    She apologized..feeling super shiok

    These few days at work has been quite okay for me. The calls are not a lot, hopefully things will be better for the next few weeks.

    Last Friday, got one of the staff from the affiliated company call to check over some issue. That day she was very bad tempered, didn’t even want to provide me on the details. So I took slightly longer time to try to check for her. Then she got very impatient, she start to scold me already. And the way she said was so rude. And after scolding in English, she start to speak in Hokkien, which I don’t understand what she was talking.

    That time, I was still trying to get the documents, really cannot take it anymore. I told her firmly, ‘can you at least show some respect?’

    She pause for a while and told me, ‘huh? I like that not shown you enough respect ar? Just now I don’t know I spoke to who. I waited and waited, being put on hold, no body get back to me, now you still want me to wait again. Can you check then call me back? My handphone is very expensive, I don’t want to spend it on waiting.’

    She ran through her telephone number and my ear heard a sharp ‘thud’.

    Really want to scold her. Super rude. She had a bad day doesn’t mean she can release all her anger on me.

    Then on Monday, I start work at 0915hrs as usual. Joey on leave on Monday, so Alice helped to take care of my board. She told me that lady looking for me. I didn’t bother to call her back. After that I pick up one call, a lady was looking for me…

    Lady, ‘erm, may I speak to sin man please?’
    Me, ‘this is sin man speaking, may I help?’
    Lady, ‘hi sin man! This is launa from oep. So sorry for what happened on Friday. I think I was really rude that day, cause a lot of things to do, then customer keep on chasing me. Just want to call and apologize to you, really hope that you could forgive me. Really very sorry…’
    Me (feeling very shiok), ‘ oh, it’s okay, really… never mind la… forget about it. Haha…’
    Launa, ‘hey sin man, really sorry lei…’
    Me (feeling super shiok by then), ‘it’s really okay.. Haha.. I have forgotten about it already, it’s really okay…’

    At least she bothered to call and apologize… no matter what, what said has been said, the hurt is already been made… this only show what is the real capacity in her la… cannot take stress…

    Still felt very shiok that she called and apologize to me. Muahaha…

    Huh.. what you mean by.. nice back?

    This morning, I was on my way to work. Then there was one weirdo approached me from the back. Had a short conversation with him.


    Weirdo, ‘erm… hi, going to work?’

    Me (shocked that someone approached), ‘erm… ya, going to work.’

    Weirdo, ‘where you work?’

    Me (pointing front), ‘at Fuji Xerox Towers, what about you?’

    Weirdo, ‘oh, I worked in Realty Centre. Erm… you got nice back.’

    Me, ‘huh? Nice bag? Oh, thanks.’

    Weirdo, ‘no, is not bag, is back. You got nice back.’

    Me, ‘oh, okay.. thanks..’


    Don’t even bother to talk with him further. What does he mean by nice back? Irritating. I know that day I wore specs to work, look quite sloppy, but what does it mean by that anyway. Don’t feel compliment at all… whatever… won’t be seeing him again…


    Hmph… fine.. at least I know my back is nice… always must look at the positive rite? Haha…

    Today met Ariel for lunch. It’s the first meeting after so many months since she left the company. Cas and I really shared with her about what happened all these months.

    We realized that we really have a hard time trying to squeeze so many things in the short 20 mins. Haha.. So we decided to meet up again during June. We are going to have another outing to celebrate the freedom of Cas and I.

    Today’s call is quite bad for me. But today don’t know how come got so many funny calls.

    Remembered there is one customer, I asked him where the machine is located, you know what he replied? He thought for a while, and then he said, ‘the machine is on my desk…’

    I really felt like laughing out loud at that time. Really have nothing to say. Duh~~ I also know you place the printer on your desk. Hello~~ where else can you put your printer in? Toilet?

    Me, ‘erm, sir, I mean what is the location of the machine, the address…’

    Smart customer, ‘I am using it as a personal printer you know? It is at my house.’

    Me (totally speechless), ‘erm, ok, sir, may I know the address of your house please.’

    Smart customer, ‘do you need to know where my address is?’

    Me, ‘yes sir, I need to know the address, so that when we need to send engineer down to service the machine for you, we would know where is the machine located.’

    Smart customer (pause for a while), ‘erm, ok, my address is at (address)’

    Oh man, can you believe it? I really don’t know whether I want to laugh or cry…

    Then another case, I am supposed to call customer to check whether I can send the engineer down to service the machine the next working day. Cause the calls are simply too high, and I cannot send all of them within the same day.

    And I have no idea how to pronounce this name. I stuck there for about one minute; I simply don’t know how I should pronounce this name:

    HO KUAI LAN

    The person who recorded this down didn’t indicate whether is this caller is a lady or a gentleman. How to pronounce this sia? After that, I asked Cas and see whether she has any idea how to pronounce this name correctly. She laughed, and then after that she said don’t know.

    Imagine you pronounce this wrongly, the customer will be double offended. Firstly you offended them by not sending the engineer down on the same day. Secondly you offended them by pronounce the name incorrectly.

    Without any help from Cas, decided to go ahead to call. My heart was really heavy.

    Unknown person, ‘hello…’

    Me, ‘Hi good afternoon, may I speak to, erm, Ho please?’

    Unknown person, ‘oh, Ho, erm, hold on for a while…’

    Short pause

    Unknown person, ‘Ms Ho is in the toilet, may I know what it is regarding?’

    Me (relief, oh.. so is Ms Ho.. haha.. ), ‘oh, this is calling from Fuji Xerox, earlier on Ms Ho logged in a call in regards to the machine, DC186 replacement of drum, I just want to inform her that we’re sending the engineer tomorrow first thing in the morning at 9am.’

    Unknown person, ‘oh, ok, erm, hold on’

    Short pause

    Ms Ho, ‘hello, Ms Ho here…’

    Me, ‘Hi Ms Ho, this is Sin Man calling from Fuji Xerox, regarding the DC186 machine, we’ll be sending the engineer to replace the drum for you tomorrow morning at 9, will that be alright?’

    Ms Ho, ‘ok, thanks, early morning ya?’

    Me, ‘ya, sure, I’ll make arrangement for that. Thank you, have a nice day, bye bye.’

    Phew, so is Ms Ho. Really had nothing to say. After calling the customer, Serene said that she was the one who picked up the call earlier on, she said is a lady.


    Wah, why now then tell me? Can save a lot of trouble know? Anyway it was really funny. (So bad of me to make fun of other people’s name. but after working there for such a long day really got so tired already. I can simply laugh at anything and everything.)


    Then Cas suggested to ask Joey and see whether does she know how to pronounce the name. Joey came over and look, she stared at the name and said, ‘I also don’t know... haha..’

    Pump Room Outing

    On Thursday, went to have a girl’s night out with my colleague. Lin suggest that we go to the Pump Room, her boy friend works there. So we went there after work. It’s really exciting cause after so many days of ‘struggling’ with them in office, can really spend time to have fun with them.

    Those that went: Lin, Nuraini, Flora, Cas and me.

    We took 162 to City Hall, to our surprise, we got on to a very special bus. Flora said there’s only one in the whole of Singapore. We’re so lucky to got onto this bus. The seats are not those normal kind of cushion seats. The seats are pure white sofas. It’s really comfy and nice. We all sat at the back of the bus. We all really acted like those ‘first-time-in-city’ kind. Really got excited. Haha..

    After that we took a transfer to head our way to Clarke Quay. I came to Clarke Quay almost every single week, but I never stepped into the pub area. That day I went, I was so shock that the place really changed a lot. It’s so beautiful. Sorry la, I know the place’s been like this for very long time. Don’t laugh at me ya? Haha..

    We went into the place. The waiter is really very good, I really loved his service. He really make us feel very welcome and comfortable.

    The food there, overall, is quite nice. But I don’t really like their fried food. I think the flour is a bit too thick. The starter is nice. I loved the potato wedges.

    For the main course, I chose paperback Salmon. I loved it. The fish is fresh, and the portion is just nice for me (after eating tons of potato wedges).

    As for dessert, we ordered raisin ice cream and crème brulee. Loved the crème brulee too. The ice cream didn’t have a chance to take a picture of it.

    Cas really gone mad that day. She keep talking nonsense stuff. And we all got so tired of laughing. Lin suggest that she should sit somewhere else, to excuse all of us of all the agony. The waiter also liked to disturb her. I think she had too much white wine, really gone crazy. Haha..

    Next time want to go back to Clarke Quay again. Maybe can visit other restaurants there… haha..

    Stupid and Irritating System

    These few days, the system in the company has been really ‘good’. Last week, many of the computers got serious virus attack. Thank God that my computer was not affected, so that I do not need to change the hard disk and do the entire configuration. The number of calls coming in is very high keeps picking up calls non-stop. And the speed of the system never improved.

    These few days, working there is really a chore. All of us are so tired and grumpy when the day ends.

    On Friday, the events are just accumulating. And really felt so tired on the inside. Listening to MP3 while travelling back to my house for cell group. While waiting for the next train at Marina Bay, really felt like crying. Felt so pressured by the clever system that this company has. On Friday, the system down for two times, and I need to go to use CSM’s laptop to do dispatching.

    But what really agitated my heart is one of the calls after 1730hrs on Friday. Managed to pick up a call from customer. She said she needs urgent service right now. The engineers have already off work since 1730hrs, how to find engineers? Some more this machine, not sure whether is hardware or software issue. And earlier on, there is some commotion over this machine already. Initially she agreed that we send the HW and SW engineers for joint call the next working day. but when I picked up the calls, she said she changed her mind, she demands the engineers right away.

    Already explained that the engineers do not work after 1730hrs, she still insist. What I don’t like the most is the way she said, ‘just now I spoke to your colleague, she said can get engineers today. Why now you say cannot? My MD wants to print today, you want to speak to my MD?’

    I really don’t like her attitude. I was really very angry at that time. Thank God that Stacey and Cas was around. And they managed to get HW and SW engineers to go down.

    Then I got one service call in my board on Saturday from the same company. I told the engineer to attend to this company first, really very scared of them after Friday’s incident.

    I never got so angry over a customer before. I think is partly due to all the unhappiness the past few days. But thank God that the last three days after the weekend, the problem is not as bad. Managed to pull through these few days.

    I’m already looking forward to weekend..

    good and bad day

    Today had a very angry day. Today there is one real stupid sales. I will forever remember his name man. He’s bobby. I picked up his call at around 5pm today. He called and demand that the waste toner bottle to be replaced for his customer by today.

    Huh? Is like 5.30 ending work, how to get someone to do such a last minute work? If he explained nicely still alright, I can see whether Cas can get any of her engineer down. The way he demanded is very irritated. He doesn’t care about others, and his attitude is simply rotten. Then I was quite angry already, then I told him that HE should educate his customers to keep spare. Then he said that WE didn’t give his customer spare. Huh? Is he out of his mind? If HE did not educate HIS customers to keep spare, how would customer wait till the waste toner bottle totally ran out and log in such a stupid last minute call? If HE did educate HIS customers to keep spare, customers would know and will call in to inform US to order spare.

    He’s simply stupid. We ended the conversation badly. He ask me who is the customer service manager. I told him the name and HE ask ME to inform the CSM about this issue. Hello~~ is not my job, HE is the one that wants the things to be done by today, not me. Why must I be the one who help him to call CSM? If his attitude is not so rotten, maybe I will do him this favor. But given to his attitude, want me to help him, over my dead body.

    Then Cas managed to get one of his engineer to work OT.

    Then just now after 5.30pm, one guy keep knocking at the door of our department. Then another board’s CSM pass by, and open the door for him. This guy went to look for lulu and ask for me. I heard that cause lulu is so near me.

    Then you know what he said? His attitude is simply down right rotten. He said loudly, ‘oh, that one in yellow is it?’

    Hello~~ can you be more polite?

    Then he walk over and show me his lanyard. Expect me to reply him regarding to the issue earlier.. Can he just ask properly? Showing me his lanyard and gave me that attitude face is super irritating. I just point to Cas, I don’t even bother to talk to him.

    Cas was on the line with customer, but he still insist to ask her on that call’s situation. Cas signal him that she’s on the line. That stupid sales imitate her. So childish la.

    I was on the line that time, then Cas and that stupid sales are discussing loudly about what has happened. Cas say that he should educate his customer to keep spare. If he didn’t, at least educate customer to call in once machine indicate low and not till when machine is totally down.

    Then that stupid sales doesn’t seems understand English, he keep biting that we’re the one who did not provide spare for them.

    Then lulu keep telling him that if he wants to complain, can speak to Cas board’s CSM. Then that stupid sales trying to avoid that statement. Then he say he will call our department’s big boss (he’s trying to threaten us. Go ahead man)

    They really talk loud. Really angry. If I’m not on the line, I will definitely scream at him. That time really felt like muting my phone for a while and scream at him that, ‘hello, his is an office, can you please keep quiet?’ after that Cas say that if she no need to take call, she will go down the door and tell him, ‘this place is restricted, would you mind?’

    By the way, call centre room has restricted access. Only those in the service department can come in. so all sales are not supposed to come in. then Cas was really irritated by that sales also. Then after lulu asked him out, she asked loudly who is the one that allow him to come in? then she declare loudly that next time please don’t let such person come into works controller room, keep on barking, so noisy.

    After that stupid sales left. Cas called her engineers to complain. After that she found out the reason why that sales wants to avoid to get in contact with Cas board’s CSM. Cause few years back he had an unhappy incident with that CSM. No wonder I told him to speak to that CSM, he seems to avoid that statement.

    Anyway, enough talk about him. Today there’s also another incident that really touched my heart.

    One of the engineer of north board, Latip, called me to check on some issue. He had a join call with another engineer, Mazlan for a particular machine.

    Then he said, ‘by the way Sin Man, I really like to talk to you. Talking to you is very pleasant….’ then he explained further, ‘every time call you, you always sound so pleasant, and you always try to help and very understanding. I prefer you to take the board as compared to Joey…’

    Then after that he also add on, ‘just now when Mazlan and I are doing that machine, we got talked about you, we two feels the same over this matter. I think you are the best works controller that I’ve seen until now…’

    I really have nothing to say. But I was really blessed by his comment. Really brightens up my day. Latip said he didn’t say all these for the sake of making me happy. He said that he really meant with all his heart.

    To me, it’s always very nice to talk to them. Although the chat is not long, but really enjoyed the conversation. And sometimes they’ll tell me interesting stories that they encountered at the customer’s site.

    Remembered there is once, Sungei Kadut there has fire. Then the engineer told me about that, and he cannot service the machine because the factory that caught fire is just beside the company that the machine is at. Still remembered after that that company log in a service call to get the engineer to check the machine, whether is it damaged by the fire.

    There was also once, another engineer called to tell me that he cannot service the machine. Cause there is a truck that rammed into the store. It was really funny.

    Really loved the engineers there. Many of them is very fun and very helpful. Really feel very blessed by Latip’s comment today. :D

    Mock Cell Group

    Today went for mock cell group. I’m supposed to share about the offering message. I told myself wake up early to prepare the offering message, but I woke up late. Oh man. Prepared the sermon on the bus. Haha.. So last minute. Tried to run through once, have a so called rehearsal. It was disastrous. I keep stumbled upon my words. I was worried that I can’t do well later.

    Met Kel and we go to river walk together. We prayed before going in to the session. God answered our prayers. Really thank God that He pulled us through.

    And the actual is so different from the ‘rehearsal’ that we did before going in. we changed our ‘script’ last minute. We add in a lot of illustration and we really preached far better than our rehearsal. Thank God for that. I was shocked myself that I managed to speak quite fluently, and I did not stumbled upon my words.

    God is good.

    The evaluator said that the verse that I chose is good. But need to take note of the timing.

    Phew~ managed to pull through the session. Really learnt a lot through this mock cell group. The evaluator taught us many things that we need to take note for having a good cell group meeting.

    Thank God for today. Had a real fruitful time spent.

    Choir Prac for Benny Hinn Crusade

    Last sat, after my sat duty, I went to attend choir practice. We start to learn new songs for Benny Hinn crusade during April this year. I could still remember last time Pastor Benny came, I was in the 1000 strong choir. And it was really a very memorable event. Presence of God was so strong. And after the event, I just want more of God.

    This year, I believe that it’ll be even better. Really looking forward to it. I am singing for all the 3 sessions. Really want to soak into God’s presence.

    Learnt two songs on sat. I’m singing alto part. Those who attended sat choir prac are less than 100 people. And when we blend all the parts together, it really sound heavenly. I believe that it’ll even better when the 1000 choir come together in one voice and sing. Woo hoo!

    Looking forward for the month of April. So many things will happen. Easter, Phantom of the Opera, Benny Hinn crusade, my birthday and cell group member’s and molly’s birthday. It’s going to be exciting.

    Bad calls, bad calls..

    Past few days, the call has been very bad. Don’t know why all the machines ran out of order. So many calls need to clear. And I was so angry on Thursday, pet logged in an urgent call at 4.30pm. The engineers knocking off at 5.30pm. And before that, there are 40 outstanding calls. She expect me to forget about the 40 calls earlier and attend to her urgent call. Oh man. Feel like screaming at her. And every time when customer called to chase, she didn’t even bother to inform me.


    On Friday I looked at the calls at the end of the day, scanning through what are the calls that I can get the engineers to go on sat. I saw one maintenance call. Customer has called on Thursday morning to chase, as the machine got problem. Pet is the one that took that chase call. And I only saw that chase note on Friday after 5.30pm.

    Maintenance call I won’t bother to check the status as there is no response time, and the machine usually don’t have any problem at all. So I will take my time to arrange and won’t check on them. So on Friday got so angry la. I let Cas look at the chase note. She was angry also. Then she told me what stupid mistakes that pet did to her board. And we can’t really blast at her, cause she’s the team leader ma.

    These two days the calls been really bad. Got more than 5 urgent calls to clear. And also need to call all those customers that we could not drop by and service the machines. Of course, scolding is inevitable, but really need to bear with it.

    On Thursday, the whole system down. And Cas and I worked the later shift, so we need to be there to pick up calls. But we also have dispatching work to do. We find it very unfair, those colleagues that are not working the later shift can just aux out and go out and use the computers to dispatch and Cas and I need to stay back in the office to listen to calls.

    But Joey is very nice, although she is not supposed to work the later shift, she took the initiative to help Cas and I to take the calls and let us go out to do dispatching too.

    Despite of the high calls, really thank God that the engineers are very helpful, they are willing to work OT to help clear the calls. Really thank God to get to know all these engineers. 3 cheers for the engineers!

    And another ‘helpful’ person is the engineer’s manager. He really failed to be a good customer service manager. The calls are so high, didn’t see him do something about it. And when there are many urgent calls, I need to call the engineers one-by-one, to ask them whether can help to clear the calls. Talk until tired sia. Then on Friday, I was the one who do all the planning all by myself, what he did was to step in and see the board, look at who is working on sat, and leave. Then when he come in, he ask me whether there were enough engineers to work on sat. then I said the situation is quite unpredictable, might not have enough engineers. Then he ask me to call the rest of the engineers. Hello~~ is supposed to be his work loh.. Ask me to do it.. And some more is after 5.30pm, I am supposed to be concentrating in listening to calls. Not supposed to call out.

    Then when I called one of the engineer team leader, his phone is not on. Then I feedback to the manager. He just said, ‘ya, maybe he’s still in Malaysia. Never mind loh’ then he just walked off.

    Erm, the situation now is that there is a lack of engineers to work on sat. all he said was ‘never mind loh’.

    I think I can take his salary too.

    Thank God on sat, the engineers are very willing to help. All the Saturday calls are cleared. Haha..

    Very irritated by this department.

    Hai~~ anyway Cas and I thought of a brilliant idea. We are going to surprise lulu during mid May. We decided to go to her at mid May and tell her that we are NOT going to continue the contract. Haha.. I think that will be the most enjoyable day man.

    Really looking forward for mid May to come. Haha..
