First Day of Work

today is my first day of work. my company is Wincor-Nixdorf. specialised in printers, keyboards, POS system, etc. my company has shuttle service that will pick us up at certai location. but today is first day of work. the company ask the driver to pick us up at the hotel.. so good rite?? hehe.. the driver called Qian Shi Fu, he's very friendly. he direct us to where to take the shuttle bus in future.
first day of work is really an eye opener for me. the supervisor, Mr Yeo, showed Zhen Zhen and i around the facilities.. the factory really have very big machineries to have production.. and they have quite a few assembly lines to make the products.. and they also have a place where they test out their product, making sure that their products are of good quality and will withstand long-term use..
one of the example is that they use a machine, that will keep typing at the keyboard that they produced.. and they count how many times the keyboard could be pressed until it spoils.. and that machine that help to type will constantly type at some of the keys on the keyboard at a constant rate.. that time.. i was really amazed.. they really really make sure that their products are up to good quality.. and besides key boards.. i also saw rolls and rolls of paper on the floor.. and it's connected to a printer.. at first i wondered how come this 'testing room' is so messy.. got so many paper on the floor.. after that, Mr Yeo explained that those are to test the printers.. making sure that the printers are of good quality..
after going round the manufacturing sectors.. really felt like 'wow.. never been to a big company to work before.. really looking forward for the next few weeks here'
then when lunch time come, Mr Yeo ask us to go for lunch together with him. we went out of the office, and we took a private car to a restuarant. we had some singaporean food there. cause that restuarant sells singaporean food... oh... starting to miss home.. hehe..
after that we went back to the office.. zhen zhen and i was given a table each to sit.. hehe.. the first day of work is like nothing to do.. waiting for time to end and stuff.. then after that, we took the shuttle bus back to the city.
Qian Shi Fu sent us back straight to the hotel on the first day.. it's really nice of him.. hee..
my overall experience on the first day of work was fantastic.. although i don't know what can i do for the company in this few weeks, but i really hope that it'll be a pleasant one for both me and the company..
