Today, another bad day also (since when I last had a good day anyway). Today lunch had a great chat with my colleagues. Ate with Jasmine, Alice and Flora today. We talked about email. Today I received an email to inform about a site survey for one of the XES machine. And after that pet email me and CC to the whole of my department, and remind me in regards to that site survey.
After that I ask Joey, how do I make arrangement for site survey? Never done before. Then she said, ‘site survey no need you to do mah..’ then I ask her how come pet forward me the email and remind me for my actions??
Then that pet said, ‘Florence ask me to remind you one,’ but there is nothing that I need to do.. Remind me for what? At most I can just say, ‘ok. Noted.’ real stupid.
Then during lunch, Jasmine also has the same problem. She receive emails to inform her about something, then she is supposed to reply, ‘ ok. Noted’ and CC to everyone in the department. I find that’s real stupid. Can’t the person just oracle messenger her directly? Why need to send the stupid email whereby there is a possibility of her missing that mail and others in the department no need to take note about this at all?
Then I heard Jasmine said Florence is the one that ask that person to email her and CC to the whole department. I find that it is REAL stupid. We spent time checking on tons of email that doesn’t concern our part of the job. And she is the one that always ask us to go check mail. Where got time?
Then Jasmine tried to fight back about this issue. Then during lunch, she said that she lost. She is supposed to reply that email and any other future emails, even if the reply is just , ‘ok. Noted.’
All of us really not happy with how she do things. We got so many things need to do. Need to listen to calls, dispatch, order toner, check emails, now still need to reply emails, update PE and IB. oh man.. One day, the emails can go up to a thousand. How to check every single one? And 90% are those stupid emails that concern only to certain people in the department.
Then Jasmine tell me to reply that particular email that pet sent to me. Is real stupid. But still need to reply.
After lunch, Stacey told me that I need to mark Anthony to have a joint call with Software Engineer Arthur. Then after that she commented she having headache.
- ‘oh no, have you taken medicine?’
‘no, feel like banging my head against the wall.’
After a while…
- ‘feeling better?’
‘not at all, the doc say I got headache is because of stress, I might have high blood also..’
- ‘high blood?! Must take care lei.. High blood might cause many problems in future..’
‘how to take care? Everyday work here, so many things to do. Really very stressed. And you know my size.. I am starting to worried.. And I also need to take care of both work and family, really cannot take it anymore.. ’
- ‘maybe find ways to distress, to relax your mind after work. Can catch a movie, or shopping.. Do anything that make you happy. Then you will feel better.’
‘you know what will really make me happy? The day when I don’t need to work here. Anyway sinman.. Thanks for your concern…’
My heart really drop. This place really drain all our energy away. Stacey is a mother of 2, currently taking care of Software board. Her board, in my opinion, is the most stressful board. Need to reply tons of emails, and sales people, customers, always chase her left right and center. And her engineers not really have enough. Outstanding calls is always super high… oh man.. Think I’ll die taking her board. Though I don’t really know her a lot, but she’s really a nice lady.. That conversation really impacted me quite a bit and I also start to worry bout her health.
After that she tell me she want to look for new job, been looking around, but no luck.
She’s not the only one that wants to change job.
Oh man, I wonder what will happen if all of us really want to quit. Like what Alice says, one day things sure blow up. Someone sure will shoot back and stand up for the rest.
I wonder when will that really happen.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
