Emerge conference 2007, to me, is really the best one ever. Met God many times during Emerge this year.
My schedule is really very packed, so only managed to squeeze time to participate in one event - T-Shirt and Jeans Design Competition. I dropped POS, although i so so so wanted to join. I'm really happy that SIM/SMU POS got in top. woohoo! Congrats congrats!
Also want to congrats Represent Crew to get in top! Happy for them and feel sad at the same time. Can't join dance competition anymore. Sadded. haha..
On first day, after the morning session is the judging for the T-Shirt and Jeans Design. Supposed to be there at 2pm. I waited till 2.30pm, the judge then come. Got 4 judges in total. Out of the 4, two of them asked me whether I got any designing background. I told them I am not professionally trained. Of course didn’t tell them I got start a business with that, will sound more impressive ma..
Sis Lilian was one of them who asked me that. I told her I wanted to study design, but didn’t have a chance to. Then she assured me that one day I will go. She asks me to save up and go. Felt happy of course. She gave me some feedback too. She said that my top, the color scheme is not wide enough, I should include more color and not just focus on black and white.
The other judge that ask me on that question also got ask me if I have a chance to improve on my design, what will I add. I really don’t know what should be the correct answer, but I know that I should feel proud of my design and not to be intimidated by him. So I told him that every design has their own style, so I’ll leave it as it is. He nodded his head, not sure whether is he satisfied with my answer.
As for the other two judges, one of them I heard that he is involved in the making of project superstar. I find that he looked familiar.
Then the last judge is a lady, never seen her before. She was late for the judging. And went she came over to judge, she just stood there for less than 10 secs and leave for the next one. I find that if she wants to judge this way, no point coming.
After the judging, my heart felt calmer as the biggest portion is done. Just finish up the showcase will do.
First night, Pastor prayed for all the University students. I went forward too, although I not officially a Uni-going student, but still considered as one of them. hee.. I got a place in SIM k? Anyway, the presence of God was strong. Cried buckets that night. After Pastor laid hands on me, I really have hard time getting up. Whole body gone weak, simply overwhelmed by the presence of God.
Second morning service I could not go. Cannot get leave. Rushed down for the night session. I was really physically tired. After a long day at work, alot of my energy been zapped away, had a hard time to focus and tune in to God. Still remembered Friday was quite a bad day at work. Last minute need to change a lot of plans. End work late because of that. Service was good too. Loved every single session. After service stayed back because of the T-Shirt and Jeans Design rehearsal. The showcase is the following day, so need to run through. The models are guided on how to do cat walk. Waited for Jennifer to finish, then we took cab home together. hee.. Really happy that she's my model, I still feel that I have the prettiest model around. She told me she feels stressed because the beauty queen was just standing right next to her. Haha..
Saturday managed to catch a little of sleep. Still feel quite sleepy though. Anyway Saturday reached Expo at around 12pm. Went to strip the mannequin then Jennifer wear the shirt. hee.. After that she went over and do make up, she really look super pretty! I didn't mean that other days she not pretty, just that that day is exceptionally pretty. :D
My heart kept pounding fast that day, I was so excited. Cause my design is going to showcase to many many people. Really very happy. Past few days I went to Hall 7, there are people that walked pass my design, and then they gave the very amazed look. It really gives me great satisfaction. Winning the competition is secondary. Through this competition, I know that my design is appreciated. :D
Anyway, Represent crew had their competition that day too. They danced great! Makes me wanna dance again. Orh.. anyway the talentime was really nice. Only managed to catch some of the performances, but I enjoyed it.
During the showcase, I saw my design on the big LCD screen, my name and picture is there too. I don’t know how to describe that feeling. I was really excited of course. Feels like something that you’ve been working hard for so long and finally comes a day that you present to the whole world. The tiredness are gone all of the sudden, winning really doesn’t matter anymore. Jennifer really did a wonderful job man. Really proud of her. She looked so hot! Woohoo!
The MC very funny. He remembered to invite the models, forget to invite the designers and he wanted to reveal the results already. Sis Charmaine went over to alert them, then he remembered.
Didn’t manage to get into top 3. But I’m satisfied. I have grown so much as a person in terms of design. I experienced breakthroughs in my own abilities in designing. I just treat the cost as my self-study fees. Anyway the jeans and T-Shirt will be put to good use.
Congrats to Sean and Yong Kwang. Congrats that both of you got into top 3. You guys really deserved it. :D
After that, service started. The service was so full of love. Liu Gen Hong proposed to Vivi in the service. Was really touched. Pastor mentioned that they are the 2nd couple that proposed during the service itself beside Pastor Aries. After that Pastor also preached about this topic. Really felt so refreshed after the service.
As for Sunday service, I enjoyed the musical. PVC rocks! The grand finale was really enjoyable. Emerge 2007 ended well, enjoyed every session of it. Loved it. :D
