Farewell dinner with the engineers

Yesterday had dinner with the engineers and engineer’s manager. Henry really irritating, they didn’t tell me where we going to eat, then I called him and ask him, then he told me we all going Malaysia eat. Then he said he later sent me back home and take passport then we go eat. Irritating thing is that I actually believed. I don’t think I want to go, trying to think of excuses not to go, then he msg me say he was joking. I called him back and scold him la, then he said we going changi eat later. Henry get their manager to send me to the restaurant after work.
I worked till 6pm, then Jason(the manager’s name) waited for me. Then I go over and find him, he said he was really hungry, only ate ban mian during lunch. Haha.. Funnie him.
I’m the only girl la, joey couldn’t go, jasmine can’t also. Then I went to take Jason’s car to go changi. Talked to him about army stuff. Hee.. Then half way through, Bb called. I picked up the phone. Then chatted with him for a while, then he ask me where am I. told him I’m in engineer’s manager car. Then he said, ‘isn’t the manager that you said not good, always stand behind you look around for a while and leave… etc etc..’ oh man, he was just beside me, and I think the phone is really loud, cause I always on it to the loudest. Then I adjust it to the softest, but I think still quite loud cause the car blocked out the sound from outside. So even a fly can hear very clearly.
Oh man, I died-ed this time. So paiseh la… then I told Bb, ‘okay la.. No la.. Where got.. Okay la..’ then after that Bb said softer, ‘huh? Thought you said not okay, how come now deny everything?’ but what can I say sia.. I can only say, ‘okay lah..’ rite? Can’t talk bad in front of him rite. After putting down the phone, really feeling very paiseh sia. Then he talked to me as if he never hear anything. Soon after I forgot about it. But now thinking back really very paiseh sia…
Reached the malay restaurant, it‘s along changi road. When I reached, nasir, nahar, mazlan, dean, and woon reached already. Really my first time talking to so many of them at a time. Really nice to get to see them. Shortly after that we saw boon kak driving company van at the other side of the road, parking his van. Got quite a lot of people came. After that andy, Anthony, uncle david, chi mun, Thomas, manie, and sharhar came. Then after that Kenneth came too. Nahar sat on my right, Kenneth sat on my left.
Dean very funnie, he said, ‘wah.. Only last week then I got to see you for the first time, then so fast you leaving already.’ then he added, ‘I think I really seldom come office man…’ woon said, ‘how come the north controller all cannot stay long one huh, really wonder who’s taking over.’ then they start discussing, they said hope not alice, or mrs ho. But yesterday I have a hunch that it most prob will be alice taking over north board, cause joey become team leader already, don’t think she can take board anymore.
The guys can really eat a lot man. Jason ordered a lot of food. And they finished up everything.. Haha.. Kenneth and Nahar helped me to get the food, cause the table is huge. First time Kenneth so nice. Think maybe is a good decision that he go over to colour board, he doesn’t looked so stressed out like he used to be.
The engineers talked a lot, they mostly talked about machines and customers. Always liked to listen to all their stories, it’s so interesting. Mazlan mentioned about one particular customer, that time mazlan called them to check what is their lunch time…
Mazlan: what is your lunch time that I need to avoid?
Customer: 1200-1400hrs…
Mazlan: huh? Your lunch time.. Is so… erm..
Customer: aiya.. You cover for me, I cover for you lah…
Oh man. That company is really very slack. How come can take a two hour lunch? Really enjoying life man. Anyway other engineers also know about this customer, usually they know that this customer cannot be contacted only after 1430hrs.
Stayed there till about 9.30pm, then woon send me back home. My first time sitting in the company van. It’s cool man. Haha.. Saw the back of the van are full of items. Mostly drums, waste toner bottle and other little parts of the machine. He shared a lot about his life, about his work as an engineer, and also got talked about his wife. It’s really nice to hear story from someone that has a totally different kind of lifestyle. He told me he worked in this line for almost 12 years. He said his wife got asked him whether he will stayed to be an engineer all his life. Woon told his wife that he think that he will just stay in this line as long as possible. Cause if he choose to embark on another career, he need to start all over again.
Reached home at around 9.50pm. Really enjoyed myself.
