First Day of School @ SIM
Tuesday, July 31, 2007
Today was my first day of school. Feel really excited as I could go back to study and get a higher qualification. But after one year of break, think need some time to get used to the momentum. I wonder whether I can cope with it or not.
Before I get out of the house, was talking to Bb over MSN, he asked me to call him before class start. I was late for class. Called Bb, he prayed for me over the phone, that I could perform well academically and able to have good relationships with other students. :D although still feeling afraid, but I’ll trust God that nothing is impossible!
My first lesson was Finance Management. It’s supposed to be a year 3 module, but don’t know why I can take it when I’m in year one. Hee… I was late, so the corridors are really quiet. Coincidentally I met my long-time-no-see secondary school friend – Zhong Yue. We exchanged phone numbers before heading for our own classes.
Tell you a secret; I almost couldn’t locate the classroom. Reached the classroom at 7.30pm, it’s really packed; the class should have around 40 students. I sat beside a lady, her name is Bee Lan, this is her 2nd last semester already. She was quite shocked that this is my very first lesson. But she said that she know people who took year 3 modules first then after that take year 1 and 2 modules. I told her I don’t need to take almost all the year 1 modules due to exemptions. She’s really nice; she shared with me previous experiences in this school. I didn’t know that we need to print lecture notes; she shared her notes with me.
The lecturer is a very young and pretty lady. Think she is in her late 20’s. She’s quite nice, could understand what she’s teaching. But need to copy down quite a lot of notes. Someone after class commented that how come the lecturer don’t just include those additional notes into the lecture notes so that we don’t need to waste energy to copy. Think all lecturers only have one answer to this question: it’s tested that students will be more alert when they copy notes in class. Bleah…
The lecture ended early, finish at 9.10pm. Reached home at 10.10pm. Hee…
I want to score high marks. Don’t want to put dad’s money to waste.
