CG Camp - Missionbell Underground

The camp was a very unforgettable one. It was a life changing experience for me. On the first day, lead games together with Ling. The members enjoyed it a lot.
I was really nervous on the first day as shortly after the games, Kaili and I will share a word.
Few nights before we’ve been discussing about it, even till the night before, the sermon was not finalized. Was feeling quite stressed, some point of time I doubted whether will the sharing session be successful.
We prayed about it and we decided to share on a sermon entitled ‘Friendship with the Lord’. The sermon was adapted from John Bevere’s book entitled ‘Drawing Near’.
Kaili gave the introduction, talking about children of Israel moving out of Egypt. The children of Israel does not understand about God’s plan as they didn’t have an intimate relationship with God. Kaili did a great job in sharing the introduction. I took over after that, the sermon is as follows:
God spoke to Moses after telling the people to return to their tents. Deut 5:31 “But as for you, stand here by me, and I will speak to you” Moses was invited to remain and hear God’s heart! In Psm 103:7, God made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. Moses knew what God would do even before He did it. because God would share His heart, His desires, His plan to Moses. God regards Moses His close friend.
For children of Israel, they knew God by God’s answers to their prayers. They did not know God’s motivation, wishes, plans or other deep things of His heart. Like many of us, we chose to share our secrets only to the selected few. Reason is simple; you chose close friends is because you trust that they will not use the precious things of our heart to hurt/take advantage of us. They will know how to handle it with care.
In NLT version of Psm25:14, ‘Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear Him, with them He shares the secrets of His covenant.’ Let us have a quick look to another friend of God in the Bible, Abraham. Abraham waited for 25 years for the promise of God, which is the son borne to him and Sarah, his barren wife. The promise came to pass. God gave him a son and they named him ‘Isaac’; which means ‘laughter’ as Isaac brought laughter to the family. God knew Abraham loved Isaac, it’s written in Gen22:2. God told Abraham to bring His miracle child to Mt. Moriah and offer him up as a sacrifice.
If I’m Abraham, I would have a lot of questions in my mind. Some of it would be, ‘God, why give me Isaac in the first place? Why would God give him only to take him away?’ ‘Does God love Isaac as much as I do?’ ‘Why not take my life instead?’ For Abraham, his response was found at Gen22:3. Abraham rose up the next morning and brings Isaac out and head to Mt. Moriah.
Despite of all the doubts that Abraham could have in his heart, his fear of the Lord overrode all. God has spoken and he would obey. What does it means by the fear of the Lord? It is to obey even if we don’t see the reason or benefit of it, obedience even if we don’t understand, obedience even if it hurts.
There are many times we’ll hear people would say things like, ‘if you give, God will…’ ‘If you pray, God wil…’ ‘If you obey, God will…’ ‘Come to Jesus in order to get…’ It’s true that God will bless us if we serve, obey and love Him. But blessings should never be our motive of serving. We should serve based on who He is and not because of what He can do for us.
Back to Abraham, in v4, Bible said that Abraham travelled 3 days to reach Mt. Moriah. Why God didn’t instruct Abraham to another place which is nearer? Why need to travel so far? I believe God gave Abraham time to think it over, even to turn back. It’s one thing to initially move when you hear the voice of God; it’s another thing to follow through all the way till the task is completed.
For Abraham, he followed through. He went to the top of the mountain, built an altar, bound Isaac and lifted the knife. Then suddenly the Angel of the Lord calls out the Abraham at Gen22:12.
How God know Abraham feared Him? It’s because he obeyed even when he didn’t understand, even when it wasn’t to his own benefit. God watched as Abraham placed God’s desires above everything else. Abraham love the blessor more than the blessing.
From there, God knew, ‘this is a man that I can reveal myself to, and share my heart with.’ *End*
After the sharing session, Valor gave quite a lot of really good feedback. Learnt a lot from this session. Hee.. It’s a good practice for me. :D
At night, we played treasure hunt. It’s the first time after years I didn’t plan for the CG event. Feel kinda weird. Hee.. Anyway the treasure hunt was difficult. One of the most difficult parts is crossing the road. A lot of cars! And my team got quite a few kids; everytime cross the road is a risk for me. Another thing is that the area is really big and we have no idea the where to start look for the answer. The clue does not give us any hint on around where is it located. Spent a lot of time running around again and again. Feeling really really tired. Personally, I was feeling like giving up, the game no longer as enjoyable after some time, and feel like just quickly get it over and done with. Although personally feeling quite low, but still want to encourage the team to jia you! I believe the rest of the team members do feel the same why too! But cannot let it influence each other.
Thank God, the game’s over. Was stinky all over. Ewww.. and only one bathroom, so everyone queue up to wash up. Almost one of the last to use the bathroom. The bathroom door spoiled, and then need to trouble Bb to help me hold the door while I was bathing. Thanks Bb.
On the second day, we played Shi Zi Lu Kou. hee.. ran around and eat! hee.. :D
At nite, we all dressed up.. getting ready for the rock concert.. :D
MC for the concert is our beloved Ber and Mel~~ 
Not sure how the event flows for the concert. And I'm so surprised that carolling start first. I really wonder who planned the schedule. Thought carolling supposed to be one of the last item. Anyway, it feels weird.
E carol was not as good as I expect to be, don't have the 'mood'. But next time can try again. :D

i'm surprised that Desong's reaction is so fast.. mel and Bb don't even have time to react. haha..
Next item we having is the fashion show... hee.. different groups used various materials like newspaper, aluminium foil, straws, etc to doll up their models.

After the concert, we're trying to finish up the leftover food that we've ordered from the caterer
3rd day Valor having an impartation session. I was very blessed by the 3rd day. Think all of us are really very tired by the 3rd day, we almost drag ourselves to go for the prayer meeting. Feel like asking Valor whether I can go home early to rest.
