Life goes on as per normal for me this morning. Woke up late, rush to work, start computer, check tons of email and excel spreadsheet, gobble up my breakfast in my office, pick up phone and start calling tenants…. Then saw something different…
Half of the office blacks out, then next second the other half black out also. Heard a machine shutdown sound at my distant left and the whole building shook for a second.
Almost all stopped work. Cause using PC. I’m using laptop, so my colleague laugh and said I still got to work. Haha. anyway I still need to reply emailsssss.. so I keep typing. Then the rest of the colleague all gathered around and talk talk talk. Heard a lot of stories; there’s smoke coming out from toilet; there’s an explosion outside; got fire somewhere in the building..
Then we saw CEO walked out of the office. Then after a while he announces that it’s safer for us to start to evacuate. We used the emergency exit. It’s the first time I been there, the staircase is narrow. And the railing is sooooo dusty. Ewww…
I just realized 13th floor is really super high up. Took a long time to walk all the way down. While walking down, realized that actually the whole building has black out.
Anyway the scenery at the emergency exit is soooooo nice!! Can see a clear view of the Youth Park, Singtel building and the Somerset Central.
We gathered at the grass patch. It’s so WARM~! We’re so late and the people has took up all the shady parts. We stood there for a while, about 10 mins. Then we given instructions to go somewhere else to chill. Once it’s okay, department heads will contact the rest. So my click all go Centrepoint. Haha~! yeah~~ a short break from all the work.
Grace and I took a short trip to Mango and the rest bought them something at coffeebean. After that we receive announcement that we can go back office. Grace and I reached office, saw Ariel they all brought their bags and waiting at the lobby. They said they are given instruction not to stay in office until further notice. So Grace and I went in and took our bags out. Saw Ella still in office, she asked me about progress of some buildings. I stayed behind and send her report before I join e rest. Feel so weird to work in an empty office.
Anyway after that we know from the press that the substation in the building has a flash fire. 4 workers are injured. Here's a picture of the substation. (Anyway I didn't know there's a substation in the building till now... heee..)
